It is an honor to welcome everyone to the Blue Card’s 79 th Anniversary Benefit Dinner.
This year marks the 70 th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the legacy of which symbolizes the strength and courage of Holocaust victims in the face of unspeakable tragedy. In New York City, we take seriously our responsibility to cherish the lives of all those we lost during that terrible time, and since 1934, the Blue Card has provided vital financial assistance to thousands of survivors and their families struggling with poverty. Tonight is a wonderful opportunity to support the Blue Card’s important mission, and to pay tribute to both survivors and individuals whose humanitarian efforts have made a significant impact on their quality of life.
On behalf of the City of New York, congratulations to this year’s honorees—Mia Farrow, Ronan Farrow, Curt C. and Elise Silberman Foundation, and Sara Greenberg. Please accept my best wishes for an enjoyable evening and continued success.
