MiaFarrowis an internationally acclaimedactress and humanitarian activist. She has appeared in more than 50 flms, including "Rosemary’s Baby", "The Purple Rose of Cairo" and "Hannah and Her Sisters", and won numerous awards, including a Golden Globe award, seven additional Golden Globe nominations, and 3 BAFTA nominations.
Widely known for her humanitarian efforts, Ms. Farrow became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2000 and much like her flm career, has received several awards for her humanitarian work including the Leon Sullivan International Service Award.
This past summer, Ms. Farrow took to social media to expose Nazi war criminals currently living in the U.S. Following a story in the Associated Press, she tweeted names and locations of Nazi war criminals for the world to know.
Ms.Farrowalso travels andcampaigns extensively in her own capacity to help raise awareness about humanitarian issues. In 2008, Time magazine named her one of the most infuential people in the world.
Ronan Farrow
Ronan Farrow is an American human rights activist, freelance journalist, lawyer and former U.S. State Department offcial. He served as a senior foreign policy offcial in the Obama administration, founded the State Department Offce of Global Youth Issues and reported to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton as
the United States' frst Special Adviser for Global Youth Issues during the Arab Spring revolutions. He assumed this role following two years as the State Department’s Special Adviser for Humanitarian and NGOAffairs in the Offce of the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The late Richard Holbrooke and Mr. Farrow had a special bond and mentor-like friendship, which led the late Special Representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan to appoint the then 21 year old Mr. Farrow as liaison to non-governmental organizations working in Pakistan. Mr. Farrow’s writings have been featured in the
Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal and other publications, focusing mainly on human rights issues in the Horn of Africa . He has also appeared on MSNBC, ABC and CNN advocating for children associated with armed conficts. He has heavily emphasized youth engagement in his advocacy efforts, working at the forefront of the student movement on Darfur and touring the country speaking at universities as a Representative for the Genocide Intervention Network.
In 2009, Mr. Farrow was named by New York Magazine as their “New Activist” of the year and included on their list of individuals “on the verge of changing their worlds.” In 2010, Harper’s Bazaar named him their “up-and-coming politician of the year.”
Mr. Farrow is a Rhodes scholar and alumni of Bard College and Yale Law School.
