What is the difference between four-color process and spot color printing?
There are two main printing processes – four-color process (CMYK) printing, also known as full color printing and spot color printing. Four-color process printing involves the use of four colors – cyan, magenta, yellow and black to create the full spectrum of colors for your final piece. Spot color printing uses the Pantone Matching System ink colors which are mixed individually from a predetermined “universal” formula. You can not design a printed piece using RGB colors.

What type of file can I send to Classic?
We recommend saving your files as a .PDF or .EPS files. Because designing for print can be complicated, we will review your files and convert them if necessary.

Are templates available to help me design?
Yes, we have approved art templates available for most printed items, including tri-fold brochures and postcards. You will be able to create and send us artwork that can be printed fast and accurately. They take into account many things you may not be aware of including: Cut Line, Safety Line, Bleed Size, Finished Size, Fold Lines, Artwork Area and Crop Marks.

How do I set up a bleed?
Bleeds must extend at least 1/8” past the trim size on all sides. For example, if you have a 4”x6” postcard the final size with bleeds should be 4.25”x6.25”. Please keep all text and any critical copy at least 3/16” from the trimming edges.

What is the proper print resolution?
Graphic file images must have a minimum resolution of 300dpi (dots per inch). Images with resolution less than 300dpi can look fuzzy and/or pixelated.

What quantities can I print?
We have a specialized array of equipment that can run both very small and very large jobs.

Can I use Photoshop to design a brochure?
Although it might seem like a good idea at first, Photoshop was truly meant only for photo work. Any copy or type in a Photoshop file can appear pixilated or unclear in the final printed project. Brochures should be designed using programs like InDesign, Quark or Illustrator.

Do you offer mailing services?
Yes, call us to discuss how to prepare your mailing piece so that it conforms with all postal regulations.  Ask us about the new EDDM offered by the Post Office.

Do you offer rush service?
Yes, we offer next day rush service on most of our products. So don’t despair, the brochures for your client’s trade show or the business cards for their last-minute meeting will be there when they need them.
